At AEW Double or Nothing, Malakai Black unleashed a brutal assault on Adam Copeland in a bloody Barbed Wire Steel Cage match for the TNT Championship. Black vowed to destroy Copeland and came close to doing so, but a shocking twist of events led to a surprising victory for the champion.

As the match reached its climax, David Gangrel, a former leader of WWE's The Brood, emerged from the darkness.
