Dolly’s Sweet Potato Casserole Recipe

### Ingredients
  • 5 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cooked
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • Whipped cream or marshmallows, for serving (optional)
### Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. In a large bowl, mash the sweet potatoes until smooth. 3. Add the sugar, butter, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the sweet potatoes and mix until well combined. 4. Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. 5. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through. 6. Serve warm, with optional whipped cream or marshmallows. ### Tips

For a sweeter casserole, add an additional 1/2 cup of sugar.

For a richer casserole, use brown sugar instead of white sugar.

For a crunchier casserole, top with a layer of chopped pecans before baking.
