Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Police Standoff

What Happened?

A Moorpark man has been charged with attempted murder after a police standoff that lasted for several hours.

The incident began when police were called to a home on the 100 block of Spring Street at around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as 37-year-old John Doe, barricaded inside the home.

Police said Doe was armed with a gun and had threatened to harm himself and others.

Negotiations and Standoff

Police established a perimeter around the home and began negotiations with Doe.

Negotiations continued for several hours, but Doe refused to surrender.

At around 3:00 a.m., police entered the home and took Doe into custody.

Charges and Investigation

Doe has been charged with attempted murder and several other felony charges.

Police said they are still investigating the incident and have not released any further details.

Doe is being held in Ventura County Jail without bail.
